📦 Slick PC App Installation Instructions
Standard Installation (Recommended)
- Download the latest
.msixfile from the Slick PC App section above - Double-click the downloaded
.msixfile — this opens the App Installer - Click Install and wait for the installation to complete
- Slick will launch automatically when finished
Install via PowerShell
If the App Installer is unavailable, disabled by your organisation, or fails to open, you can install the .msix package using PowerShell as a normal user:
- Open PowerShell (no admin rights needed — just search for "PowerShell" in the Start menu)
- Run the following command, replacing
C:\Users\YourName\Downloads\SLICK_VER.msixwith the actual path to your downloaded file:Add-AppxPackage -Path "C:\Users\YourName\Downloads\SLICK_VER.msix"Tip — getting the file path: In File Explorer, browse to your downloaded.msixfile, then either:- Hold Shift and right-click the file, then select "Copy as path", or
- Select the file and press Ctrl+Shift+C
- Once complete, Slick will appear in your Start menu
Tip: If you get a policy error, ask your IT administrator to enable sideloading on your device.
🔄 Updating Existing Slick Installation
To update Slick, follow the same steps as the installation instructions above, using your newly downloaded .msix file.
Important — same Slick version, different firmware: Occasionally, a new Slick release may share the same version number as your currently installed copy but is bundled with a different firmware version. Because the package contents have changed while the version number has not, Windows will block the installation with an error like "the provided package has the same identity as an already-installed package but the contents are different".
To resolve this, Do not uninstall Slick — doing so will remove your content.
Instead, download and install the updated firmware package separately (see the firmware column in the table above). Follow the ITCH firmware update instructions found here, and then select "Browse" and select the downloaded firmware update package.
